Tree of Light
A Christmas tree will be going up at the State Capitol in Raleigh. However, this tree is in remembrance of people who died in car accidents in North Carolina in 2009. There will be 1, 394 lights, each representing a victim. According to the WRAL story most of the lights will be white except for 394 which will be red. The reds lights will represent deaths from car accidents involving alcohol and drunk driving. There will also be additional check points set up as part of the “Booze It and Loose It” campaign.
