July Brings Deadly Roadways in NC
The roadways in the Triangle and throughout North Carolina seem to be filled with car crashes involving fatalities…and we are just talking about the past couple of weeks. Just this morning, an off-duty paramedic, Merle Faucette was heading to Durham on NC Highway 96 when a car crossed the center line. The car hit Faucette’s motorcycle head-on killing him.
On Saturday, Joyce Tubbs, of Wake Forest was driving the wrong way on US 1 in Sanford. She struck an SUV head-on killing herself and the other vehicle’s driver, David Spears. Who was driving the Suburban she struck. Upon impact, the Suburban overturned and burst into flames.
On July 2, two other motorcyclists were travelling in Clayton on NC 42 in Johnston County. A vehicle, driven by Ellen Kealy hit William Richard and Frederick Brown while attempting a left turn. Mr. Richard died while Mr. Brown suffered a fractured leg.
