Well it is that time of year again…children will be dressed up in their favorite costumes and participating in good old fashioned trick-or-treating. The Town of Cary, NC has added some Halloween Safety Tips to their website in order to help keep children and adults safe this year.
Some safety tips for children include, wearing makeup instead of masks. This helps ensure the children can see where they are going and their vision is not obstructed in any way. Ensure all costumes fit properly, they should not be too loose…you may trip and fall. Be sure to carry a flashlight and try to stay in a neighborhood that is familiar. Remember to choose houses that have their lights on, look in all directions before crossing the street and don’t touch pumpkins that have candles in them.
The Town of Cary has also posted some helpful tips for parents to help keep their children free from personal injury this Halloween while trick-or-treating in the Raleigh area. Those tips include making sure costumes are flame resistant, check all treats before allowing consumption, try to start earlier before it is too dark or at least try to accompany your children, and try to select light colored costumes or at least those with some type of reflective strips. To review these tips and others, please visit the Town of Cary website.
We wish you lots of fun while trick-or-treating this Halloween!
