Don’t forget the life jackets!
Summer is here, and it’s time to enjoy water recreational activities. Whether you are into fishing, water sports or just riding on a boat, don’t forget about your life jacket. Every person aboard is required to have a life jackets, or personal floatation devices.
North Carolina has specific requirements for children to keep them safe. All children under the age of 13 are required to wear an appropriate life jacket while private boats or recreational vessels are in use, unless they are below deck or anchored.
Always put safety first when on the water. Forget about the possible tan lines. If water conditions are dangerous it is best to wear a life jacket to prevent drowning. Have fun on the water this summer just make sure to remember the life jackets.
