Bus Accident kills 4 in Virginia
A bus operated by Sky Express, based in Charlotte left Greensboro, NC on Monday night heading to New York City. The bus was transporting 58 people including the driver. 30 miles north of Richmond, VA the bus swerved off Interstate 95, hit an embankment and flipped over. More than 25 injured people were treated at nearby hospitals. So far, the crash is still under investigation however one factor already being cited is driver fatigue. The Federal motor Carrier Safety Administration records indicate this Charlotte based company has had four buses involved in crashes involving at least one injury and/or fatality in the past two years. It has been cited 17 times for unsafe-driving violations and 3 of 46 violations for driver fatigue were classified as serious. Read more
