Back to School
Well it is that time of year again for those students on a traditional school calendar. It is also that time of year for drivers to make sure they are aware of school zones and safety around school buses. In North Carolina drivers must stop for a school bus which is stopped and has its red lights flashing. School crossing guards are considered traffic officers and should be obeyed. There are special markings and speed limits posted around school zones. Some school zones will also have flashing yellow lights to remind drivers of the lowered speed during school hours.
If you pass a stopped school bus you could receive 5 points on your license. If you are caught speeding in a school zone you will receive 3 points. For more information click here.
